I’d just go with a stock one if it were me.

Totally agree here, stock is the way to go!

That hot air intake’s costing you power for sure.

With an intercooler, it’s not too bad. The turbo heats it up anyway before it even hits the engine.

It’s not my setup, but yeah, I get it!
That’s awesome! Thought about putting together a cable upgrade for my 7.3, but after pricing everything, I just bought a kit. It’s a lot of work and those materials aren’t cheap.

It really is! But I actually enjoy doing wiring, guess I’m a bit crazy
If you make a kit for 7.3s, let me know! I need a replacement for my '97, and your setup looks great.

Working on kits for the IDI 7.3, OBS 7.3, and Super Duty 7.3 right now.
@Oak
Oh, Super Duty 7.3 here! I’d be in for one of those kits too.

Noted! I’ll put up a post for the 7.3 kits once they’re ready.

A kit for the OBS 7.3 would be amazing!
Those terminals look really solid!

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what does this upgrade actually fix? I see it on other trucks but never understood why stock cables aren’t good enough.

Alright, quick rundown! When it’s freezing out and your engine’s turning over super slow, this setup delivers more power to the starter. You’ll get fast starts even with older batteries, while stock cables might struggle even with fresh ones.
Plus, you won’t risk burning out FICMs by running on low voltage – huge win for these engines.
@Tatum
Exactly!
