What’s my neighbor’s 7.3 Powerstroke worth?

My neighbor’s ready to sell his 2001 F250 7.3 Powerstroke. It’s got under 150k miles, a long bed, and an extended cab. The interior looks decent. I know these trucks keep their value, especially with low miles like this. Any guesses on what it could sell for? I’m thinking about making an offer.

Didn’t you already post about this? What’s the reason for posting again?

Where’s it listed and how much is he asking?

There’s one up for sale here in the Pacific Northwest with twice the mileage for $8k. I thought it’d sell immediately, but it’s still sitting.

If it’s rust-free, you’re looking at $12k to $15k, easy. If it were a crew cab, it’d probably be worth over $15k. I’d start by offering him $10k and see what he says.

People are asking insane prices on marketplace right now. Personally, I wouldn’t pay more than $12k for a truck that old and not exactly fuel-efficient.

Not fuel-efficient? I get 20 MPG on the highway with my 2001 F250 7.3 quad cab long bed. I agree, though, most prices are way too high, but the market might be cooling a bit.

@Lane
How fast are you going to get that mileage? My 2001 quad cab short bed 4x4 does about 17-18 MPG at 70 MPH. If I slowed down to 60-65, maybe I could hit 20 MPG.

Yeah, I stick to around 65 MPH … keeping it under 2k RPM is the trick.
