While working on replacing the alternator, I rounded one of the three bolts. Do you know where I can obtain a new one? I checked a few hardware stores, and they all seemed to have it. Although I did find bolts on eBay, they cost $30 for three used ones, and I do live in a tiny town. I am aware of their 10 mm size.

Irwin sockets are my favorite for rounded bolts. Never once has one let me down as they chew their way into the bolt head.

Yes, they are really great!

Try using vice grips, placing a latex glove in the socket for a better grip, and then really hammer it on. You can also use a slightly smaller 12-point socket and tap it on. If needed, cut a groove into it with a grinder and insert a flathead screwdriver to help remove it.

A new glove is the latex one. Must give that a go again later.

That method has saved me a few times with my old XJ.

Particularly for screws like Phillips or Torx, but it can not be messed with any more.
