Glad you didn’t take it the wrong way! I didn’t even notice it was in a ditch until after I made my comment. I’m not a mechanic, but I hope you get it sorted.
No problem at all. I haven’t had time to work on it yet, but I’ll let you know how it goes when I get to it.
Feel free to update me, but no pressure.
I don’t mind. I’ll keep you posted when I figure it out. It’s easy enough to type up a quick update.
Hehe, fair enough! Good luck with it.
By the way, what year is the truck?
Nice! How’s the 6.7 been for you? We use 6.7 F-550s at work with plows and sanders, and they’re my favorite trucks to drive.
It’s been a solid truck—plenty of power, comfortable, and reliable… well, when it actually takes fuel, that is!
Do you have the white ‘horse cock’ funnel for filling from a jerry can?
Nah, just had a few black horse cocks pushing me around, haha.
I had the same issue with my F-150 after removing the vent hose. Once I put it back, fueling became much easier.
Your username checks out!
Try going under the truck and push the fuel tank upward. If it moves, you might need new straps, or you can use a ratchet strap temporarily. Check the filler neck as well, it might be blocked.
Sounds like the issue is between the filler neck and the tank. I’d inspect that area more closely.
Could something have been dropped into the tank? I’ve never seen this happen unless there was a debris flap or a filler neck issue.
Not sure, haven’t had the chance to look into it yet.
Buy a small camera from a hardware store and feed it down the filler neck to see if something’s blocking it.
Have you tried rotating the funnel 90 degrees counter-clockwise?
Dang, I was rotating it 95 degrees clockwise!
Just pour gasoline on the truck and light a match. Problem solved!
