Considering a 2000 7.3 with 311k miles as a daily driver… good idea?

If it’s been taken care of, 311k isn’t bad for these trucks. I just worked on one with 380k, still going strong.

A well-maintained 7.3 can hit 500,000 miles with minimal issues. Some even reach a million with mechanical fuel injection.

How long is your commute? Short drives can be hard on a 7.3 since they take a while to warm up, especially in cold weather.

I used to daily drive my 99 7.3, but now it’s retired. It’s fine for trips, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a full-time daily.

Picked up a 99 7.3 with 323k for $5k last year, and it’s been solid as my daily. Did basic maintenance and it’s been reliable. Cleaned up the frame, and I feel good about its longevity.
