I have a 2001 F350 7.3 that was originally automatic but I swapped it to manual. I got a tuner to tell the truck it’s a manual now, but the cruise control isn’t working. Did I miss something? Any ideas why it’s not working?
Handling a manual and an automatic requires different computer setups and wiring. Did you replace the TCM and install the cruise control clutch switch along with the harness when you put in the new pedal assembly?
Edit: The TCM in a manual setup is mostly for basic functions like the neutral safety switch and reverse light. It’s a simple box. In an automatic, the TCM has more complex tasks.

No, I just put in a clutch position switch so I could start the truck. I also got a tuner from DP Tuner to tell the PCM that it’s now a manual instead of an auto.
Does the clutch pedal cut off the cruise control? That might be something to check. I don’t have first-hand experience, but it’s what popped into my head.
Is your 01 equipped with a digital or analog odometer? If it’s analog, there might be two wires you need to jumper in the PCM harness. When I did my ZF6 swap on my 99, jumping those wires enabled my cruise control. I remember the 01-03 models with digital odometers needing more rewiring to work properly. Let me go through my old notes and confirm which wires.
Update: I checked my notes. You need to create a jumper wire between pin 29 (tan wire) and pin 31 (black with yellow tracer) in the PCM harness. Don’t cut them; just bridge them. I accessed the back of the PCM harness by removing the driver’s side inner fender. Hope this helps you.
@Reece
Mine has an analog odometer. I’ll look into those wires. Appreciate it!
Do you have any brake or ABS warning lights on? If the truck can’t read wheel speed sensors correctly, the cruise control won’t work.

No ABS warning light. I’ll double-check the brake lights, but I think they’re working fine.
Figured it out! The system was looking for the overdrive cancel switch, so I made a jumper from the tan/white wire of that switch to the tan/blue wire on the clutch switch. Cruise control is now working!
