Why are F250s everywhere in America, but Canada is full of F350s?

1-ton SRWs have been around forever. Without looking it up, I’d say at least 40 years.

My dad still has his 1978 SRW F350 extended cab.

I’ve heard a lot of folks say 1-ton trucks are for heavy haulers and 3/4 tons are pointless. But if you actually look at the cost difference, it’s not that big. My 2002 F350 was only $1,100 more than an equivalent F250. For that price, you’re getting an extra 1,000 pounds of payload and better options.

I bought a 3/4 ton thinking it’d be enough for anything I’d need. Then I started looking at 5th wheels for my family, and it wasn’t even close. That’s when I realized my uncle doesn’t know squat about payload capacity.

@Bowie
A lot of people think they need a 1-ton for towing. But honestly, a properly specced 3/4 ton can handle most 5th wheels unless you’re pushing the upper limits.
