Are the torque converter-to-flex plate bolts tight?

Yeah, they seem tight. Is there a certain way to tighten them, like a pattern or just one by one?

Usually one at a time works. I’d snug them all down first, then torque them to spec.
If it’s a used torque converter, that could be the issue. I’ve seen people drive with that noise for a long time without a problem.

The transmission is a new rebuild, but the torque converter might be reused. I’ll check with the person who sold it to me.
Agreed – it’s either a cracked flex plate or someone forgot to put the spacer between the crank and flex plate.
