6.0s are junk.
Only slightly better than the 6.4.
Source: I had one until the engine blew up on me.
There’s a reason the 6.4 didn’t last long in production.
7.3 or 6.7—avoid the rest.

6.0s need strict maintenance, especially the early ones. Check out PowerstrokeHelp.com or Diesel Tech Ron on YouTube.
Mine’s an ‘07, still running original head gaskets at 245k miles, but I take care of it.
Also, nothing beats the sound of a 6.0 turbo—especially the ‘03s.
Do you want a project truck?
Because this is how you get a project truck.
I live in McAllen. Should I go for it?
Have deep pockets for head gaskets and oil coolers.
Cummins swap it.
2003 was the first and worst year for the 6.0. Expect to spend another $10k+ making it reliable, no matter what the seller says.
If it was perfectly maintained, it has maybe 70k miles left. More likely, it’s got 18k before major repairs.
Bring it for a full inspection and you’ll know if it’s worth it.
