She hates the cold

It sounds like an M60. Last winter was my first with my 6.0. I don’t have access to an outlet, but it never drops below 0°F here.

Oh man, do you already have snow? I thank God that it’s still like summer here.

Was gonna ask… where tf is he haha.

I moved my girls, '95 and '96, to NM because we like to be warm. Cold problem solved. I also like the mountains, so we live at 8000 ft… sh*t.

Plug it in, plug it in. Instant heat in the cab too.

I had my block heater on a mechanical timer set to turn on 3 hours before I would leave. It was awesome. So quiet and easy startup.

Yup. I have two of those. They’re just as grumpy in the cold.

My '06 hates the cold, and so do I. I start her up and walk away, hoping the cab is warm enough so my feet don’t freeze when it’s time to go.

Yep, IDIs make a lot of noise when the temp is below freezing.

Yeah, HEUI injection systems are not fans of the cold, especially in single digits. The big Cat HEUI engines do the same thing when it’s cold.

I used to do night shifts pipefitting, nowhere to plug the truck in overnight. Trying to start my 2004 after it sat all night in -40°C, I thought the engine was going to eject out of the engine bay sometimes.

My '93 Cummins doesn’t care if it’s -10°C. VE44’s tuned properly with strong injectors don’t care about the cold and hardly smoke either.

That just hurts my feelings.

My 7.3 did this, and it was the injectors. When they fixed those, it was something else until I was poorer and got rid of it.

That’s caused by cracked injectors.

Definitely something not normal there. A Powerstroke should start without issues at -20°C and not sound like that. How cold was it?

Get your credit card out and scrape the ice off.

You mean diesel literally turns into gel in the cold and you have an old truck?
