Searching for a 90's Ford F250/F350… advice for a newbie?

Yep, the 460 is the 7.5L gas V8. They’re fun, torquey, and reliable, except for occasional issues with exhaust manifolds. Just don’t expect more than 10 mpg. If you want a diesel, you could also look for a 92-94 7.3 IDI. They’re slower than the Powerstroke but super simple and reliable. The turbo IDI trucks feel closer to the PSD in terms of power.

If you’re in Minnesota, definitely look for a truck from the South. Up here, cab corners don’t exist anymore.

Oh, for sure. The ones I’m looking at are all from southern states.

I’ve got a ‘91 F250 with a 7.3 and over 300k miles. Be ready to spend some money keeping it running.

I’m definitely planning for that. It won’t be my daily driver, but I want to take it out as much as possible.
