Replace the rear fuel tank's braided lines with solid lines on a 1996 F-250 7.3

I bought this truck a while ago and have finally saved up enough to fix it up, but I have run into a problem. The previous owner cut the braided lines from the pump in the tank that run along the frame. I am really hoping I don’t have to spend hundreds on new lines and can find replacements like those for the front tanks. I have tried using fuel line tools, but nothing seems to work. Any advice would be appreciated.

It is a low-pressure system, so get a bubble flare kit and a line cutter. Make your own barbs and use rubber diesel-rated hose to route it wherever you need.

I apologize, but that is not a fast fitting, rather, it is a crimp connection. In the absence of your desire to create lines, you will have to find either OE style or used lines. As a draw-only system without a tank pump, diesel systems do not require high pressure lines. Worm clamps and fuel lines are acceptable options.

Since it is a 7.3 Power Stroke and not a high-pressure system, I should be able to use standard rubber fuel lines with hose clamps. If that’s the case, I am heading to the auto store now. What grade of rubber lines should I get?

I would cut it off at the metal section precisely where the crimp is, flare it, use a screw-on barb fitting, and then run a regular fuel hose up to the engine first put a fitting on.

I have regular fuel lines running from the tank to the fuel pump under the rail on my 6.0. For diesel, you just need nitrile rubber, R10, or B1 lines.
