Great job, it looks clean! I had a lot of fun rebuilding mine. It was nerve-wracking, but having a good manual to reference helped a lot. I’m proud of it, and it’s still going strong.

Would you mind sharing the source of the manual you used? My 4R100 isn’t doing too well—probably the result of a rough pre-owner.
@Jay
Oh sure, ‘the previous owner’ did it. Okay, bud.

Hey, I don’t drive like a maniac. I’m not one of those ‘I don’t care about this truck’ guys. This thing has over 500,000 miles on it—I only found that out a year after buying it. It’s my only vehicle. The previous owner left all kinds of junk, like a cheap remote start system I removed, sticky foam from an old tuner, and more. But it’s a Texas truck, and everything else I looked at was rusted out. I specifically wanted a 7.3.
@Jay
I get it. I like to push my truck a bit sometimes, but it’s not my daily driver, and I don’t do it often. I was just joking earlier.
@Jay
ATSG is another great resource.
I used the ATSG manual for reference too, since Transmission Bench rebuilt a gas 4R100 and mine’s a diesel.

I rebuilt my E4OD using the ATSG manual back before YouTube even existed. It’s a solid guide.
Looks great. Did you add any upgrades?

Yep! I installed a Transgo Tugger kit, a heavy-duty torque converter, a new OEM pan, a bypass tube, and a transmission cooler. I’ve put 2,500 miles on it so far with zero issues.
@Bliss
Nice upgrades. I might’ve added a modified center support with a thicker snap ring, but you’ve definitely covered the most important upgrades.
Is that Transmission Bench I see on the monitor?

Yessir, it is!

Does it run well? My 2000 F250 has 190k miles and a flashing O/D light. I’ve been watching that channel for tips.
Transmission Bench has 16 videos that guide you step by step on which parts to check for wear and what needs replacing.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you spend on parts? I’ve got a failed spare transmission (certified transmission—Road Ripper) with only ~30,000 miles on it, and I’d like to rebuild it. It’s hard to justify dropping another $6k into a transmission.
