@Cleo
Get a 7.3 or 6.7 then. My friends and I have been through every Ford diesel, and unless you’re willing to spend at least $10K per year in repairs, stay away from the 6.0 and 6.4.
Pros of the 6.4:
- Works great as a boat anchor.
- Generously donates King Ranch bodies to other engines.
- Can be melted down into something useful.
- People will look at you with pity and concern when you say you own one.
- Easy to make reliable! Just replace it with literally any other engine.
Seriously though, if someone is saying good things about the 6.4, they either have way too much money or they’ve convinced themselves it’s not that bad. Run away.
Look at 2011+ 6.7s. They’re a complete improvement. The 6.4 will drain your wallet faster than you can fill the tank. It’s not if it breaks—it’s when.

Gotcha, I’ll keep an eye out for a 6.7. Thanks!
