A trim piece broke off, and I’m wondering about the best way to fix it. Any advice?
I avoided pulling the headliner to install a new trim piece by using some emblem glue. Glued my original piece back onto the broken clips, put some weight on it for an hour, and it’s held for two years now. If you’ve lost the original piece, though, you’ll probably need to replace it.
Mine was loose before it fell off, so I used a ton of RTV to keep it in place.

This is the way to go.
You could just get another one; they’re not expensive and clip on pretty easily.

They’re around $45 each and screw on, close enough!
You’ll need to drop the headliner corner. If you’re careful, you don’t have to drop the whole thing. Get behind that corner to screw the new one down. Adding a bit of silicone under the new piece helps keep it secure. The plastic gets brittle over time and breaks at the mounts, so silicone adds extra hold.
OEM parts are still available, but you’ll have to drop the headliner to get to the fasteners.
Check Amazon for replacement parts.
Take care of any rust you find while you’re at it. Last year, I had to replace the whole roof on my '99 crew cab due to rust, which cost me around $5k. Those trim pieces are plastic and available at the Ford dealer.
The part you need is called the cab corner roof molding. You can find it on Amazon or eBay.
If there’s rust or a hole, grind off the rust, patch with bondo, and prime it. For paint, grab some white spray from AutoZone that matches Ford’s common white. I did this on my 2002, and it was a perfect match.

That color would be Ford Oxford White.
Buy a new trim piece and glue it back on.
You’ll have to drop the headliner, which is a bit of a hassle. The part is around $40.
Nah, it’s totaled.
