I just bought a 2012 F250 Lariat with 170k miles for $23,000. It’s a 6.7 diesel. I’m wondering if this was a good deal or if I paid too much. What do you all think?
Pretty solid deal. You might want to budget for a 2015+ turbo upgrade in the future, but other than that, these trucks are usually rock solid. Nice find.
In this market, that’s a good deal if the truck is in good shape. I paid way more for a clean 2004 Ram 3500 with 125k miles.

I had it checked by a diesel mechanic—no leaks or issues. All it needed was an oil change.
@Harlan
Sounds like you scored, man. Enjoy the truck!

No leaks at all? That’s impressive! Did it even have oil in it? Haha. Sounds like a great buy.
You got a great deal!
I just paid $30k for a 2013 Lariat with 145k miles. It was deleted and tuned, but I had to spend another $5k taking off the lift and putting stock wheels back on. So yeah, I’d say you did pretty well.
If the interior is clean and it’s a non-smoker, then you definitely got a steal. Nice pickup!
Not bad at all. If there’s little to no rust on the body or frame, I’d say you got a solid deal.
That’s a steal. I bought a 2011 Lariat with 147k miles back in early 2020 (before prices went crazy) for $28k.
I bought my 2011 F250 6.7 last August with 150k miles for just under $25k. Sounds like you got a good deal.
That’s a really good deal. I recently sold my 2011 F250 King Ranch with 185k miles for $29,500.
In today’s market, you got a good deal.
I bought a 2011 with 179k miles for $25k earlier this year, so I’d say you did fine.
Good deal. With proper care, it should last you at least another 200k miles.
If you’re happy with it, it runs well, and there’s minimal rust, then yeah, you scored!
That’s a solid deal. Just watch out for the early 6.7 ceramic bearing turbo issues. If it’s still the original turbo, you might want to upgrade to a better one eventually. Otherwise, keep up with maintenance—DEF, fuel filters, quality fuel, and maybe some fuel treatment—and it should serve you well for a long time.
In the current market, that’s a pretty good deal.
You did well. I’ve seen similar trucks going for nearly double the price.
