Best Powerstroke?

I am curious what everyone on this forum thinks the best Powerstroke is? Personally, I feel the 7.3 was ‘the best,’ but my favorite is the 6.0.

Depends, really. The 7.3 is the most reliable, the 6.0 makes a great noise, the 6.4 can be found for cheap, and the 6.7 makes lots of torque.

Are 6.0s really as bad as they say?

I like mine, but it requires work and maintenance. It’s pretty fast for a mostly stock 7,000lb truck, and the engine note is fantastic.

No, they’re not as bad as everyone says. Proper maintenance is key.

7.3 for the 450k mileage reliability.

7.3 for stock, 6.0 for modded, 6.7 if you must have modern.

I mean you’re asking a favorite Powerstroke question on the internet. The answer is 7.3.

Picked up an 08 6.4 for cheap due to injector failure. Deleted emissions and replaced the injectors. Super fun to drive now.

Owned all but one. 7.3 is reliable but slow. 6.0 is fun but needs proper care. 6.4 is fast but expensive to maintain. 6.7 is the best modern option, but early models (2011-2012) had issues.

99-03 7.3 is one of the best engines ever. Pair it with a ZF6 manual for a bulletproof truck.

7.3 for me. I don’t tow much and just want something cheap(ish) and easy to maintain.

The 6.0 is a great motor on paper. Be proactive with maintenance and avoid over-tuning.
