I bought my 2001 7.3 with only 6000 miles on it and drove it daily for 10 years. Now it has 230K miles and is semi-retired. Recently, I hauled 2700 pounds of bluestone and drove 180 miles, but I noticed a slight loss in power. Has anyone had their injectors serviced or tested? Should I just replace them?
Dirty filters… lots of things can rob a little power
beautiful truck.
do a buzz test on the injectors
Before you go pulling injectors, dump a couple of bottles of Chevron Techron diesel additive in the tank, change the fuel filter and do an oil change. Run her a bit hard through the rpm range to get the juices flowing and see if your power comes back.
@Briar
Will do- That sounds like fun!
Clogged screens in your fuel pickup can affect it, often overlooked
Looking good!

Thanks, I’ve done cab corners and rockers. Found a bed in Alabama, painted and stopped plowing snow with it!
Did you periodically put additives in the fuel?

It’s not throwing any codes, which is weird. But I think you can still get diagnostics from a scanner. Leaky injector o-rings can cause similar issues.
230k, have you done anything for stiction?

Hi thanks for the responses. I should add I get a decent amount of white smoke on startup cold
Do you have any data to post? Such as IPR or ICP? I just finished tracking down a fuel issue that turned out to be a worn fuel pressure regulator.
