2012 f350 6.4 oil coming out of the dip stick?

When I went to check the oil, I saw something on this pipe that appeared to be oil just in front of the dip stick. When I pull it out, it doesn’t actually drip, so I assume that oil is being blasted out in some way. Any thoughts what it might be? Is it a typical issue? Crank pressure that is too high?

Start by replacing the CCV filter first (the black box in the upper right corner). Ford offers an updated version, or I’ve heard you can open them up and remove the filter yourself.

I believe the CCV filter for that year is just a pass-through box and doesn’t actually contain a filter.

The newer replacement has baffles instead of a filter, while the older one had a blocked filter.

Pretty Sure that is incorrect :100:

Ford produced two styles, the previously stated pass through style and the filter style. The pass through style is the one shown.

Take off the oil filler cap and observe the degree of blowby.

Invert the cap over the filling hole, and cross your fingers that it stays in place.
